HSBC Secure Key is a two-factor authentication (2FA) tool exclusively designed for users of HSBC Personal Internet Banking to provide an extra layer of protection against fraud

If you have a compatible smartphone, you can replace your physical device instantly:

Suggested Image Ideas:

  • Option 1: A photo of the physical HSBC Secure Key device next to a smartphone showing the HSBC app login screen.
  • Option 2: A simple graphic with a checklist: "Lost Key? 1. Log in. 2. Order. 3. Activate."
  • Option 3: A warning sign graphic with the text: "Official Channels Only."

The Secure Key Exclusive program replaces the traditional password and username authentication method with a more secure, token-based system. It uses a physical token, known as a Secure Key, which generates a unique, one-time password (OTP) to verify the customer's identity.

  • Via Online Banking: Log on via a browser (if you can). Navigate to the security settings or "Order a Secure Key" section.
  • Via Telephone: This is the most reliable method for replacements. Call the number on the back of your debit/credit card.

Still using a physical HSBC Secure Key? If you’ve lost yours and need a replacement, consider switching to the Digital Secure Key built right into the HSBC app.

Upgrade to Digital Secure Key: HSBC strongly recommends switching to the digital version integrated into the HSBC Mobile Banking app. This is free, faster, and eliminates the need to carry a separate physical device.
