Unity Hub 2.4.5 — concise, useful overview
What it is
Unity Hub 2.4.5 is a version of Unity’s launcher and management app that centralizes Unity Editor installs, project management, account/sign-in, and module/component installs (platform build support, documentation, etc.). It streamlines switching between editor versions, creating new projects from templates, and managing licenses.

5. Upgrade Considerations
Why Upgrade to 2.4.5?
- You are on an older 2.3.x or early 2.4.x release and experience license activation bugs.
- You need stability without the redesigned interface of Hub 2.5.x.
- You require continued support for older Editor versions (2018–2020).
Versions 3.1 and newer introduced a mandatory "Simplified Licensing" UI that obfuscates the network configuration. If you need to point your Hub to a custom license server address (e.g., http://your-server:8080), 2.4.5 gives you a clean, unambiguous text box. Later versions bury this behind JSON configuration files.
2. License Pop-up Avoidance
Later versions (2.5.0+) introduced mandatory "Sign in to use Unity" splash screens and more aggressive telemetry prompts. Version 2.4.5 allows you to work relatively anonymously if you have an existing license file.
