The Good: The first few episodes of WotU do a fantastic job of showing the hopelessness. The Human Empire has no army left. The Integrity Knights are depleted. And their greatest swordsman, Kirito, is a shell. This is SAO at its most desperate, and the directing leans into slow, painful silences – a rarity for this franchise.
