Stranger Things Season 3: The Summer That Changed Everything
By [Author Name]
- The Fireworks Strategy: Eleven’s powers are weakened (she lost them after removing a piece of the Flayer from her leg). To defeat the monster, the gang uses a slingshot and a box of Roman candles. Dustin and Steve lead the monster onto the mall roof while the kids fire fireworks at its flesh. It is stupid, brilliant, and pure 80s summer fun.
- Hopper’s Sacrifice: The emotional gut-punch. David Harbour’s Chief Hopper, after finally reconciling with Eleven, stays behind to destroy the Russian machine. He smiles at Joyce as the room explodes. His "death" is ambiguous (we never see a body), but the letter he leaves Eleven—read aloud in voiceover over shots of the destroyed mall—is the single most heartbreaking moment in the series. "Keep the door open three inches."
