Sonic Origins Switch NSP: The Ultimate Retro Collection for Your Console
Known Issues with This Release
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles music tracks may still use substitute tracks (due to licensing with Michael Jackson’s estate) unless the Classic Music Pack is applied.
- Some Switch firmware combinations cause crashes on launch – requires disabling the “Tinfoil” USB installation flag.
- DLC unlock may reset after system update – reinstall DLP NSP or use a ticket remover.
Classic Mode
- Extract Archives: Use 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the
.nspor.nszfile. - Transfer to SD Card: Copy the file to the
/install/folder on your microSD card. - Open Installer: Launch TinWoo (recommended) or DBI.
- Install from SD Card: Browse to the file. Critical: Ensure “Install DLC” and “Install Updates” are ticked (most repacks will auto-detect).
- Launch: Return to the Switch home menu. The icon should appear without a cloud icon.
For the Switch modding scene, this became a primary target. This sparked a movement to "patch" the Switch NSP with the original beta music tracks or even the PC collection soundtracks, restoring the game to the memory players had from 199 Sonic Origins Switch NSP -DLC Update- -eShop-
