Sketchup Version List [updated]

SketchUp 1.0 (2000): The initial release by @Last Software, focused on making 3D modeling "as easy as drawing with a pencil".

SketchUp 7 (2008): A major leap with the introduction of Dynamic Components and integration with the Google 3D Warehouse. sketchup version list

2013–2017 – “SketchUp Make” (free for personal, non-commercial).
2017 – Last desktop Make version (still downloadable unofficially).
2018 – Trimble kills desktop Make → moves free version to web-only (“SketchUp Free”).
2019 – SketchUp for iPad (full editing with Apple Pencil).
2021 – SketchUp for iPad Pro (with external monitor support).

Google SketchUp 8.5 (2012): Trimble acquired SketchUp from Google and released a new version with improved performance and features.
SketchUp 2013 (2013): Introduced a new 64-bit architecture and improved dynamic components.
SketchUp 2014 (2014): Added support for OBJ export and improved scene management.
SketchUp 2015 (2015): Introduced a new Extension Manager and improved performance.

SketchUp for Web (ongoing)

Browser-based modelling introduced and matured over several years.
Comes in free and subscription tiers; increasingly feature-rich but still not fully parity with Pro desktop.
Ideal for quick modeling, teaching, and lighter workflows.
