Materials and Tools

• Original PSP ISO (ripped from legally owned UMD)
• PC with sufficient CPU and disk space
• Compression tools: ciso (PSP ciso tool), gz, zstd (optional), or UltraISO for conversions
• Checksum tools: md5sum / sha256sum
• PSP/homebrew or emulator for testing (PPSSPP)
• Disk image utilities (7-Zip, WinRAR)
• Hex editor (for troubleshooting)
• Backup storage for originals

1. Open YACC and load your Shin Budokai 2 ISO.
2. Under "Compression Level," select Level 1 (Fast/High Quality). Do not select Level 9.
3. Check the box: "Disable Audio Re-compression" (This is the "Extra" part).
4. Uncheck: "Remove UPG file" (This keeps the installation data for faster load times).
5. Compress. You will now have a .cso file roughly 780MB.

• The UMD Nightmare: When Goku transforms into SSJ3, the UMD would spin up, causing a 2-second freeze.
• The CSO Extra Quality Reality: Because the data is sequentially compressed (Level 1) on fast flash memory, the game streams perfectly. The transformation is seamless.
