Adobe Photoshop CS6 occupies a unique place in tech history as the final "perpetual license" version before Adobe shifted to the Creative Cloud subscription model

  1. Install UTM or VMware on your Mac.
  2. Create a new virtual machine on your external SSD (important – locate the VM file on the external drive).
  3. Install the guest OS (Windows 10 is easier for CS6 compatibility).
  4. Install Photoshop CS6 inside the VM. Activate it legitimately (or use your license).
  5. Shut down the VM. The entire VM folder is now portable – copy it to any Mac, install the same VM software, and open the VM.
