NeoProgrammer is a specialized software tool commonly used with the CH341A USB programmer to flash, read, and backup BIOS and EEPROM chips. Version 2.2.0.10 is widely considered the most recent stable release for this hardware. 1. Setup & Hardware Configuration

  1. Desolder the motherboard's coin cell battery.
  2. Unplug the AC adapter.
  3. In NeoProgrammer, before reading, click "Settings" → "Enable Hot-Swap Protection." This uses the CH341A’s I/O pins in a high-impedance state for 500ms before applying VCC.

Step 2: Install NeoProgrammer 2.1.0.19

  1. Extract the archive to C:\NeoProgrammer\
  2. Run NeoProgrammer.exe as Administrator.
  3. The default language is English (or Chinese). Switch to English via "Settings" → "Language."

Step 7: Disconnect & Test

  • If you must connect hot:

    Excessive Heat: The chip struggles to dissipate the extra voltage, turning it into heat.
