  • Clone any built-in asset.
  • In its config.txt, change the kuid line to the missing KUID.
  • Submit the change. Trainz will now treat your clone as the missing asset.

6. Recommended Search Workflow

  1. Identify missing KUID from Trainz error message or config.txt file.
  2. Check Content Manager first – Filter KUIDequalskuid:xxxxx:yyyyy.
  3. If not installed – Switch to “Available for download” tab in CM.
  4. If still missing – Go to Kuid Index (kuidindex.com) – paste KUID.
  5. If not found – Try Google: "kuid:xxxxx:yyyyy" Trainz.
  6. Check author’s known site – Search for author ID in community forums.
  7. Last resort – Post on Trainz Forum “Missing dependencies” thread with list of KUIDs.
