Download Chrome For Mac 10.15.7 Patched [SAFE]
To download and install Google Chrome on macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina), you must use a specific legacy version, as current releases require macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) or later.
Error: “Google Chrome Requires macOS 11 or Later”
- Fix: You accidentally downloaded the wrong installer. Delete the DMG, clear your browser cache, and use the legacy link provided in Step 3. Do not accept auto-updates from Google’s homepage.
- Resource Hog: It’s still Chrome. If you only have 8GB of RAM on your Mac 10.15.7, expect it to eat up 2-3GB with just 3 tabs open. Activity Monitor will show it as the top energy user.
- Battery Life: If you are on an older MacBook, your battery will drain noticeably faster than using Safari.
- No Future Features: While it works today, Google will eventually drop support for Catalina 10.15.7 (likely within the next year), so this is a temporary fix, not a permanent one.
Sync Issues: Older versions of Chrome may eventually lose the ability to sync with your Google Account or may show warnings about being out of date. Download Chrome For Mac 10.15.7
