Step 4: Performing the Update – Two Methods
Method A: Update via USB Drive
- Insert the prepared FAT32 USB drive into any USB 2.0 port (preferred over USB 3.0 for compatibility).
- Inside EZ Flash, it will automatically detect storage devices.
- Browse to your USB drive and select the
.CAPfile. - EZ Flash will verify the checksum and confirm the BIOS matches your motherboard model.
- Press Yes to start flashing.
- Do not power off, reset, or press any key during the update (takes 1–2 minutes).
- Once complete, the system will restart.
- EZ Flash (Legacy): Found on older motherboards. Often required renaming the BIOS file to a specific generic name (e.g.,
