Chapter 4: Complications
With the relationship established (be it familial or romantic), Chapter 4 introduces external conflict. Iris’s friends become suspicious. The ex-wife re-enters the picture with legal threats. Furthermore, a rival male character (a coworker of Iris) adds a jealousy mechanic. Version v1.01 optimizes the rendering of these scenes, fixing previous animation stutters and dialogue bugs found in earlier 1.0 builds.
The sun had just begun to set on the bustling city of Tokyo, casting a warm orange glow over the streets of Shibuya. I sat in my small, cozy apartment, staring blankly at the TV as the news anchor spoke of far-off lands and politics. My mind wasn't in it; it was elsewhere, particularly with my daughter, Yui, who was now 17 and growing up to be a beautiful young woman. I had always been a single parent, raising her on my own since her mother passed away when Yui was just a toddler.
I walked home, deep in thought. How would Yui react to this? I found her in her room, surrounded by schoolbooks and her beloved manga. "Yui, we need to talk about something," I said, sitting beside her. I explained the game concept and the proposal from MrDots Games. To my surprise, she was excited and flattered that a game developer would think of her.
