Previously available as a separate technology preview, Grading Optimization is now fully integrated into Civil 3D 2023. Found on the Grading tab, this tool uses iterative analysis to automatically adjust grading feature lines, infill areas, and gradings to meet target elevations and slopes while respecting user-defined constraints (e.g., drainage paths, maximum cut/fill ratios). For large site development projects, this can reduce manual grading iteration time by 50% or more.
