In the 2000s, Brkovi continued to evolve, releasing albums that showcased their musical maturity. "Brkovi" (2001), their self-titled album, featured a more refined sound, while "Vsak dan je praznik" (Every Day Is a Holiday), released in 2006, included hit singles like "Vse je podarjeno" (Everything Is a Gift). The band's 2015 album, "Kot zastave" (Like Flags), marked a return to their rock roots, with critically acclaimed songs like "Kot zastave" and "Vremenske napovedi" (Weather Forecasts). Produced by Milan "Miksa" Milaković (of the band Repetitor), this album represents a radical sonic shift. The punk rawness is tempered with post-punk basslines, drum machines, and even a saxophone on two tracks. Mladen’s vocals are less shouted, more spoken-word, recalling The Fall or early Nick Cave.
